You’ve written the book
You’ve added a shine
You’ve sent it to the masses
And it’s made you a dime

Writing the book is only half our job as authors in today’s market. This year’s Starfish Writers Conference focuses on strategies to sell your books successfully, whether your market is readers, agents, or editors.

For early arrivals, our attendees receive discounted access to the Houston Space Center for the entire family on Friday before our evening program begins.

Our Friday evening program will take authors on an exciting trip through an expert, in-depth talk about a real-life skill that is relative to all genres and subgenres. We also have an exclusive raffle worth $850 that is only open for entries on Friday night!

Our Saturday speaker is the talented Brian Meeks, who has helped thousands of authors master Amazon Ads and writing blurbs and synopsis that sell and that land agents and editors. A full lunch is included on Saturday, as well as free access to NASA Space Center.

Saturday Morning Workshop: Amazon Ads
Easy to learn. Tough to Master.
The trick to Amazon Ads is knowing what's important to focus on. Is it impressions, clicks, ACoS? How do you tell if an ad is a good one?

Does the ad copy matter? What about the CTR (click through ratio)?

These are the most common questions and well cover them all.

And then we’ll get to the important stuff.

Because, AMS ads are more than just coming up with pithy saying. It's about bid testing, analyzing results properly, and understanding how the ads fit into your overall picture of marketing. And it's about how your description converts.

When we are done, you'll know where to begin and more importantly, what NOT to worry about.

Saturday Afternoon Workshop: Describing Your Book

Is your description doing its job?

If it's a synopsis of the book, it may be letting you down.

In this session we will talk about the keys to effective copywriting for descriptions. We'll investigate hooks, formatting, and storytelling that gets people to read all the way to the call-to-action and then buy (or download). An author who understands the basic principles of proper copywriting will do better in all aspects of their book business, from writing newsletters, to query letters, and synopses.

Do you have a Facebook Author group for your fans?

Well, we can make your fans into super fans by getting them to be more engaged. This happens with copywriting.

This is the easiest thing you can do to help sales and brand building.

And it just costs a bit of time to learn Mastering Amazon Descriptions.
